Vodkasatan: It was pretty intimidating to start working on Roadburn 2012. Why? This year’s festival went down as the best Roadburn ever. Bands, audience and press alike raved about the music and the vibe at Roadburn 2011. Bands spurred each other to deliver fantastic, highly acclaimed performances. Socially speaking, it was one big party. The unique camaraderie between everyone involved turned the 2011 edition into something to remember for a lifetime. Suddenly, it was no longer a rumor. Roadburn’s reputation as one of the world’s best and most laidback festivals to be experienced was confirmed. The attention focused on Roadburn in the media – and by that I mean everything from print and broadcast media to the blogosphere, social networks and beyond — reached new heights, too. I have been overwhelmed by the countless glowing reviews, the radio shows, and all of the blogging, tweeting and inspiring forum discussions about the 2011 edition of the festival. To me, it felt like this was the year that the sum of Roadburn became greater than its parts. This isn’t about organizing a festival anymore. Roadburn has become a home away from home for all of us — bands, fans and organizers alike. I have never experienced this as strongly as I did this year. Walking around the 013 venue or among the bars and restaurants around the corner, the Roadburn experience became something palpable. A living, breathing creature. Roadburn is about making friends and sharing a love for psychedelic, avant-garde, doom and all sorts of other variations on far out sonic pleasures that push the boundaries of music. And in some cases film, art and literature, too. How could this be so intimidating? Roadburn 2012 is already rumbling. The living, breathing creature is stirring. Going over all of the various wish lists makes me nervous. Petrified. The typical loop tape inside my head goes something like this: “How can we top this year’s amazing line-up?” “Will it be possible to get all the bands that we have in mind?” “What does everyone want Roadburn 2012 to be?” “Is it even possible to continue Roadburn as it is?” “Can we make the Roadburn experience second to none?” This is my reality, something I face everyday while working on the 2012 edition. It can be kind of intimidating for me, which I have been assured is natural. Still, I can’t help but get anxious from time to time. I sincerely want Roadburn 2102 to be as good as our previous festivals. The music biz has changed dramatically since we started out. Even the underground has changed. In 2012 it will be even harder for underground bands to tour, and we simply don’t have the financial means to back tours or to help a dozen bands fly in just for the festival. I see so many suggestions for great cult bands that we can’t get to Roadburn and it really breaks my heart. I want to see them, too! It’s also impossible to get some of the more well-established bands mentioned. Either they are way too big for Roadburn or they won’t be on tour next spring, or it just isn’t possible to get them involved. The budget side is always a challenge. The new 13% tax increase on concert tickets here in the Netherlands is another harsh reality to face as it will affect ticket prices for us, too. Roadburn isn’t a sponsored or corporate event; it’s a break-even festival and all tickets need to be sold. We will go to great lengths to help bands get to Roadburn within the power of our budget. We have to tell more bands and bookers nowadays that there isn’t a pot of gold stashed away. We’re all into this together, and we have to make it work together. It’s give and take from both sides. I am happy to report that the line-up for Roadburn 2012 is starting to shape up very nicely. We have the headliner for the first night of the festival (Thursday, 12 April) lined up. We also have the overall festival headliner. And the curator! Not to mention several amazing bands. We will start announcing the first bands at the end of August or early September once the final details have been ironed out. Please bear with us; it will definitely be worth the wait. Roadburn 2012 will include first timers as well as bands that have graced our stages before. Having witnessed their incredible shows during previous editions we couldn’t resist asking them back. The line-up will be nicely balanced. There will be various bands on tour during Roadburn season that will not be appearing at the festival; that’s just how it goes as we strive to keep blazing our unique artistic trail. 666: Я бы сгонял бы с удовольствием, понять бы во сколько это всё обойдётся примерно для Москаля, может даже попробовать сконцентрироваться в одной гостинице... я так понимаю билетов ещё нет, а гостиницу уже сейчас рекомендуете забивать?

After the band’s widely acclaimed and artistically inspiring performances at the 2011 festival, Voivod has agreed to curate our festival on Friday, April 13, 2012. As curator, Voivod will personally select the bands that will play during their special event at Roadburn and perform a special headline show. We had a revelation this year: namely, that Voivod and Roadburn are not only kindred spirits musically and artistically, but also on the same wavelength in other ways, too. Voivod personifies the laidback Roadburn vibe. Respected by fans and bands that span the festival’s sonic spectrum, Voivod is the ideal pick as Roadburn’s fifth curator. The band will carry on a tradition that began in 2008 with David Tibet, followed by Neurosis in 2009, Triptykon’s Tom Gabriel Warrior in 2010 and Sunn 0))) aka Greg Anderson and Stephen O’Malley at this year’s festival. After Voivod agreed to curate the Friday, we could not resist asking them to stay for a second show. It’s on! The band will appear on Saturday, April 14, 2012, too. Away comments: “We are truly honored to curate the Roadburn Voivod day on april 13, 2012. We will make sure that the whole spectrum of experimental music influential to Voivod is represented.Thanks to the Roadburn folks for inviting us, we’re already counting the days in anticipation of the event !!” We are overjoyed to join forces with Voivod for the upcoming Roadburn Festival. The band’s take on thrash metal, hardcore, prog rock, avant-garde and punk has been honed to perfection for almost three decades. Captured in various stages and formations on more than 13 albums, including the legendary Killing Technology, Dimension Hatröss and Nothingface trilogy, the chilling Phobos and 2003′s high energy self-titled release, what began as a desire to do their own thing is now recognized as groundbreaking. The band has strongly influenced scores of musicians practicing the kind of sonic alchemy that defies simple tags like “heavy metal” or “psychedelic.” We are truly looking forward to the new ideas and visions that Voivod will bring to the festival next year. If asked to sum up Roadburn in one word, “progressive” would be a fitting choice. Evolution is a big part of this. The festival is a tribute to the open-mindedness of its bands, curators and audience. The joy comes from expanding musical horizons and looking at familiar territory from new angles. The band will be featuring the lineup from The Church Within; Scott “Wino” Weinrich on guitar/vocals, Greg Rogers (Goatsnake, Sonic Medusa) on drums and Guy Pinhas (Acid King, Goatsnake and Beaver) on bass. There is no debating the impact that Wino has had (and continues to have) on the stoner scene, and The Obsessed is the band with which he developed his signature doom songwriting and guitar sound. Formed in Maryland in 1976 as Warhorse, they soon changed their name to The Obsessed. The original four man lineup was pared down to a power trio and they spent several years playing shows and honing their sound, culminating in the release of the Sodden Jackal 7″ in1983. The band then went on hiatus as Wino joined Saint Vitus for a few years in the late ’80s. They reformed in 1990 with Wino joined by a rhythm section of Greg Rogers and Scott Reeder. The new lineup released Lunar Womb before Reeder left to join Kyuss. At that point Guy Pinhas joined as the bass player and the band was signed to Columbia Records and went on to release The Church Within. The Church Within was Wino’s most critically hailed album. Despite being co-released by Hellhound Records and the major label Columbia Records, the music-buying masses were not ready to embrace doom in 1994 and instead fixated on buying records by rehashed pop-punk bands. Several factors led to The Church Within becoming The Obsessed‘s last full-length album. Despite not becoming a top-seller, the album remains hugely influential. Wino has appeared at Roadburn in a number of guises, including: Saint Vitus, Shrinebuilder, Spirit Caravan, The Hidden Hand, and his eponymous band, Wino. We are extremely excited to announce that Coroner will be bringing their amazingly tight brand of technical thrash metal to the 2012 Afterburner, set for Sunday, April 15th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. Swiss legends Coroner picked up the thrash metal mantle in 1987 when Metallica went in a more pop direction and Megadeth began to succumb to their vices. They advanced the genre through amazing musicianship and by adding complex progressive / jazz musical elements like odd time changes and unusual modes, but always stayed true to the metal. So advanced were the musical concepts that Coroner brought into their world of thrash metal, that their five records not only stand the test of time, but they transcend and expand the boundaries of the genre. Listening to them today is just as exhilarating and relevant as they were 20 years ago. Not too bad for three guys that started out as the road crew for Celtic Frost, a band that got so good that they eventually had Tom G. Warrior do vocals on their Death Cult demo in 1986. By the time they switched to Ron Royce (bassist) handling the vocals, they were ready to unleash their first full-length R.I.P. onto the eagerly awaiting metal world. They followed that up with the classics Punishment for Decadence, No More Color, Mental Vortex and finally Grin. Their sound evolved as they went along, eventually (on Grin) approaching Industrial metal territory, and they helped prolong the relevance of thrash metal in a world quickly turning its attention to grunge, grindcore, Swedish death metal and black metal. Coroner pushed the musical boundaries and kept their sound fresh and evolving, always displaying their amazing technical abilities and their memorable songwriting. There is no doubt at all that Coroner will bring supreme metal chops as well as arsenal of amazing songs to their Roadburn show. For those that never got to to see them, this will be an education. For those that did, this should bring near-delirious anticipation of hearing some amazing metal.

Vodkasatan: Gnod и Spiders Today, we’re excited to announce that Gnod and Spiders have joined the lineup for Roadburn Festival 2012. It’s really hard to pin down Salford UK’s psych/metal renegades Gnod, as their their distinctive take on psychedelia is not just otherworldly, but also grounded in terrestrial styles like Afro-beat, krautrock, drone, jazz, space rock and even dance music. Gnod excels at the illusion of repetition whereby its motorik rhythms underpin a myriad of shifting hypnotic textures. As of now, Gnod have released approx. twelve full-length albums, each seemingly materializing from the aether, as the band is surrounded in mysticism. Their lengthy live-jams are created by an ever changing cast, of which there is hardly any information available. However, Gnod will leave their collective residency at Salford’s Islington Mill — a creative arts space where they live and rehearse — to fog our brains and eyeballs with a wash of hallucinations, while enticing our bodies to lose control to the propulsive, repetitive beats at the very same time. Gnod will play Roadburn 2012 on Friday, April 13th. Fronted by Ann-Sofie Hoyles, along with Witchcraft-guitarist John Hoyles, Matteo Gambacorta (bass) and Ricard Harryson (drums), Gothenburg’s Spiders mix garage punk and hardrock with bluesy melodies, mining a vein of late 60′s psych that gets bulldozed by early metal and progressive rock. Within the first year, they released their first opus: Demonsmoke, witch became one of Montreal’s best selling Doom album. A year later, the band experienced some difficulties (Drummer change & lack of weed / beer / gas money) But that didn’t stop them, in march 2011 they released Dark Foil. That Second album ended up getting amazing reviews from around the globe, and of course, outselling the first one. With their slow, pulsating grooves running through the veins of Satan, Dopethrone encompass the bleakness of black metal, the steadfastness of New Orleans-style sludge, and a heavier-than-thou doom mentality. The riffs are thick, punishing, suffocating and destructive. The Demonic vocals are harsh, visceral and animal-like. And the mood is heavy and oppresive. I've seen some fantastic sets, some great, some memorable for various reasons, and some dross. Tonight I think I heard simply the most crushing, heaviest, crystal clear riffing of the lot. Yob's sound was unbelievable. Just MASSIVE. fucking IMMENSE in Leeds last night!!! Holy shit they have got to be one of the best heavy bands on the planet, no question Yob were dead good. Good sound, good songs, decent set length - just solid overall. Bonus points since they looked really fucking ill. Not in the Beastie Boys sense, I mean they really looked rough, even for a bunch of stoners on tour. Easily three of the best bands I've seen in ages and Yob just took heaviness to another level! Excellent gig! Yob in London was a musical highlight of my life, sadly I wrenched my neck beyond all recognition but it was worth it...what a band

Vodkasatan: итак, новости: официальное подверждение Ulver Ulver‘s music career is a sonic kaleidoscopic epic that saw them start as a lo-fi black metal band, and then begin a continuous morphing through acoustic outsider folk, electronic ambient music, post-symphonic chamber music and electronic post-rock to their current sound which might be called goth / prog / electronic / experimental / art rock. They are without question one of the most varied, unique and talented bands active today and Roadburn‘s colossally chuffed to welcome them to the 1967 edition of Roadburn, headlining on Thursday, April 12th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. Ulver cleave to a path of their own making, constantly carving out new sonic territories. They are by turns brilliant, perplexing, disconcerting, soothing, brooding, cogitative, thrilling and vexing. During the 1990′s they started with their “Black Metal Trilogy” (Bergtatt, Kveldssanger, Nattens Madrigal) which managed to run the gamut from primitive sounding black metal to folklore-inspired acoustic songs. They made their first major style shift with Themes from William Blake’s The Marriage of Heaven and Hell in which they incorporated elements of industrial and electronica and melded them to texts written by Blake. Broadrick’s distinctive style involves coupling minimalistic drones with melodic, darkly layered, psychedelic guitar textures. He has an obvious willingness to experiment, as his influences range from shoegaze to dark ambient, from grindcore to industrial, from drum ‘n bass to power electronics. The styles he manifests by creating all-encompassing, yet devastatingly claustrophobic visions from minimalist means are all elements whose fumes have pervaded countless different acts at Roadburn over our many years. Justin K Broadrick will carry on a tradition that began in 2010 with Enslaved (performing the Armageddon Concerto together with Shining, Norway as part of their residency), followed by Circle in 2011. Having done time with Hank Williams III not only as a guitar tech and opening act but also on Hank III’s version of his song ‘Working Man’, Bob Wayne is the real deal. His fans include Roadburn stalwart Scott Kelly and Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe. A tireless road warrior, Wayne has toured with all sorts of metal and sludge bands. His music may be pure country, but lyrically speaking his songs share the kind of unvarnished view on life expressed by bands more readily associated with Roadburn. One listen to this tattooed desperado’s Outlaw Carnie will confirm that he fits the bill. Bob Wayne and The Outlaw Carnies will play on Saturday, 14 April at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland.

They will join Anekdoten, Aun, Dopethrone and YOB on Friday, April 13th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. Black Breath will be bringing blackened death ‘n roll straight from Seattle to Voivod‘s Au-delà du Réel. Black Breath combine infectious rock riffs and black / death metal in a way that is reminiscent of a high-velocity Entombed or a rock ‘n roll version of Dissection. They deliver their catchy and intense brand of metal with an absolutely furious live assault, sure to leave a lasting impression on your mind and body. A full-on assault, with nary a let-up in its unrelenting fury, Celeste plays a mix of sludge / post-hardcore with a pinch of modern black metal and doom mixed in. The band excels at erecting a deafening wall of hi-freq guitar-scree with a muscular bass undertow and blistering drummage, used most effectively on their much-acclaimed slab of nihilism, Morte(s) Nee(s). As if the promise of the band’s classic fourth album in its entirety performed live for the first time ever wasn’t enough, the set will conclude with a not-to-be-missed surprise. Progressive thrash? Thrashing prog? Call it what you like, Dimension Hatröss is a rarity: a concept album that stands the test of time. In fact, the original storyline has been eclipsed by reality, rendering it not so much a fantastic sci-fi trip as an uncomfortably prescient account of the world today. Divided into eight chapters, the album covers everything from the quest to create a utopian society in the face of technocratic and theocratic governments to terrorism and mind control. Plus, it rocks! It rocks in that uniquely hypnotic flight of the space bumblebee way that hums Voivod! at every dissonant turn. Named after a demon and fronted by the bewitching Rosalie Cunningham, Purson is the latest psychedelic proto-doom band with a mesmerizing female vocalist to cast a spell over everyone who hears them. With elements of ’70s progressive and heavy rock, Purson is in league with Blood Ceremony and Jex Thoth, conjuring visions of Hammer horror and pagan rituals. What sets them apart are the incredibly catchy pop-like arrangements inspired by bassist Ed Turner and Cunningham‘s borderline obsessive love of the Beatles. It only took a couple of songs on Soundcloud / Facebook to capture the attention of illustrious Rise Above Records (a 7″ and a full-length are in the works) and Darkthrone’s Fenriz, one of metal’s favorite arbiters of taste, made them band of the week! We at Roadburn were instant converts, too, spinning those four tracks over and over again, only to wake up screaming, “Must. Have. Purson. Coming at their improvised ambient jazz from a more drone/doom-informed angle than that of their parental unit, TMFDJC revolves around the plaintive, occasionally eerie and often surprising subtle trombone of Hilary Jeffery as a lead instrument for the group’s cinematic soundscapes. Squelchy, spaced-out and jittery, the echoing looped soundbed, spectral violin, humming guitar and dense, piercing electronics add a deep hypnotic feel to the colossal drone created by all the musicians as they break loose from whatever space, time or dimension they may find themselves. After the seductive and slightly erotic Succubus soundtrack, and Anthropomorphic, a tryptich of improv recordings made during 2010, we can only guess what kind the sound and atmosphere, as well as movie, The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation will conceive at the Roadburn Festival Afterburner on Sunday, April 15th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland.
Vodkasatan: Barn Owl We’re thrilled to announce that Bay Area’s Barn Owl has been confirmed for Roadburn Festival 2012, playing the Midi Theatre in Tilburg, Holland on Friday, April 13th. Barn Owl is guitarist Jon Porras and guitarist Evan K. Caminiti. Together they create dialogue between imagination and reality through wandering soundscapes, using reverb, delay, distortion, feedback, and effects pedals to create humming sounds that often have South Asian and Middle Eastern tonalities. Like similar ambient guitar and drone metal contemporaries OM, Sunn O))) and Earth, Barn Owl‘s approach to making music hearkens back to minimalist composers Terry Riley, Steve Reich and Philip Glass. The duo’s intertwining guitars, jumping from major and minor note progressions to deep and dark drones. The movement and patterns of their soundscapes conjure up images of bleak and barren places or wordless avant-garde films about desolate surroundings. Barn Owl‘s latest album, the much-acclaimed Lost in the Glare, is a dreamy affair, quiet and meditative at times, but also explosive with loud power strikes, evoking a spiritual, hypnotic state of mind.

Joining original vocalist / guitarist Harry Armstrong (ex-Hangnail / Decomposed) this updated line up of the retro-progressive riff worshipers features Peter Theobalds (ex-Akercocke / Gonga) on bass, Neil Grant (ex-RAAR) on drums, and ex-Sloth guitarist Roland Scriver on lead guitars and ever expanding effects. This coming together of styles has made EOLB an angrier, dirtier beast, as shown on their latest album Eklectric – recorded live to tape across 4 short winter days at the end of 2010. Formed in 2003, End of Level Boss was created to explore a need for off-kilter riffs and mishapen rhythms, forced into a headnodding, footstomping marriage with burned out, unhinged groove. This incarnation of the band have uncovered a mutual need to blend the familiar with the bizzare, resulting in the first EOLB album to be written collectively, through intensive jam sessions, by the entire band. Previously described as “Kyuss meets King Crimson”, EOLB have taken that recipe and dragged it, kicking and screaming, into an all new, cold and raw direction. Realising this natural progression resulted in the band attacking their latest recording with a deliberate desire to capture the live, punkier elements of Motorhead and Voivod – a band worshiped by all members of EOLB, making their appearance at 2012′s Voivod curated Au-delà du Réel on Friday, April 13th a monumental occasion for these British sound shifters.

Vodkasatan: Celestial Season We’re really excited to announce that reunited Dutch doomsters Celestial Season will perform their influential, groundbreaking second album, Solar Lovers in its entirety for the first time ever at Roadburn Festival 2012 on Saturday, April 14th, Midi Theatre in Tilburg, Holland. Core members Olly Smit (guitar) and Pim van Zanen (guitar) initiated the idea to perform Solar Lovers in full. Finally, the time has come to give these songs the live treatment they missed back in the day. Soon after the release of Solar Lovers, Celestial Season underwent a drastic metamorphosis with the arrival of a new singer and the stylistic transitional Sonic Orb EP, thus leaving their original doom metal leanings behind. Pim van Zanen states: “Now is the time to give Solar Lovers a second chance on stage. To play the album live, start to finish, and make it sound its best is a challenge for all of us.” Celestial Season will also perform their haunting rendition of Ultravox’s Vienna live on stage for the first time in the band’s existence. In order to capture the sound and essence of Solar Lovers, Olly Smit and Pim van Zanen have recruited former Orphanage vocalist George Oosthoek. The rhythm section will consist of Jacques de Haard and Rob Snijders, both from the band’s 1998-2001 line-up. Violinist Jiska ter Bals, who appeared on the album, will be joined by cellist Elianne Anemaat to round out Celestial Season‘s characteristic string section. Vodkasatan: Michael Gira While Swans intensely heavy headliner performance at this year’s Roadburn is still resonating in our collective minds, we’re elated to announce the return of Michael Gira for an acoustic solo performance on Thursday, April 14th at the Midi Theatre in Tilburg, Holland. Michael Gira will undoubtedly own the Midi theatre by force of his personality and his songs, delivered through a stream-of-consciousness at times and violent power at other times, breaking boundaries between music and art like Warhol or Cocteau. At the heart of all of Michael‘s performances (whether acoustic or with Swans), at their bare essence, are his voice and his thoughts. This solo performance allows the audience to get inside the songs, to discover something that we didn’t notice before.
Vodkasatan: Killing Joke Voivod and Roadburn are equally thrilled to announce that seminal post-punk pioneers Killing Joke will perform at Roadburn 2012 on Thursday, April 12th as part of the newly expanded Au-delà du Réel event. Killing Joke was at the top of Voivod’s wish list as soon as they accepted the curator invitation. Unfortunately, Jaz Coleman (vocals, keyboards and arrangements), Geordie Walker (guitar), Youth (bass) and Paul Ferguson (drums) could not make it to Tilburg on Friday, April 13th due to prior commitments. However, in the spirit of Roadburn and true to the Outer Limits theme, it was quickly decided to expand Au-delà du Réel and turn Voivod‘s dream of sharing a stage with Killing Joke into reality. Once described by Paul Ferguson as “the sound of the earth vomiting,” Killing Joke is anthemic and grandiose in its evocation of nightmare visions. Notorious for their use of inflammatory imagery, a backlash against a world they perceived as ever more materialistic, unjust and conservative, Killing Joke railed against the establishment and created a unique sound from the very start. Killing Joke was incorporating danceable elements with heavy, aggressive, grinding guitars and pounding tribal drums all the way back in the Eighties. With elements of proto-techno rock, their post-apocalyptic vision inspired bands as diverse and influential as Godflesh, Ministry and Tool. Their legacy can be heard and felt across the entire Roadburn festival spectrum. Namechecked and covered by dozens of great bands, Killing Joke‘s significance in rock history was acknowledged again in 2005 when they won Kerrang magazine’s prestigious lifetime achievement award. 2010 and 2011 have been two of the most successful years for the band. Absolute Dissent won Album of the Year at the 2010 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards and long-time fan Jimmy Page presented the band the Lifetime Achievement recognition at the Classic Rock Awards. Bassist Youth revealed the band’s secret to success in a 2011 interview: “A stubborn refusal to go away, fearless about reinventing ourselves and our sound, being authentic to who we are as individuals and a shared common quest in the fearless pursuit of the timeless and eternal qualities in music and life.” Killing Joke have always been and continue to be more than just a band, which we will witness in living, fire-breathing color during Voivod’s Au-delà du Réel on Thursday, April 12 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. Their appearance will coincide with an extensive tour in support of a new album and the set lists on these dates will form the most comprehensive career spanning shows to date! Vodkasatan: Internal Void на афтере We’re thrilled to announce that Legendary US-doomsters Internal Void will be making a rare European appareance at Roadburn Festival Afterburner on Sunday, April 15th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. Internal Void formed in the summer of 1987. After quickly solidifying themselves as front runners in the burgeoning Maryland Doom scene IV released their Voyage demo in 1991. Germany’s Hellhound Records soon signed IV and their first full length offering Standing on the Sun was released in 1993. On the heels of the release of Standing Internal Void embarked on a tour of the southeast United States with Hellhound label mates and doom pioneers Saint Vitus. Following a contract dispute Internal Void decided to part ways with Hellhound Records. With the departure of original drummer Eric Little, Internal Void settled in with well known Maryland Doom scene and long time friend, former Aylum/Unorthodox drummer Ronnie Kalimon. After signing with Southern Lord Recordings in 1999 IV released the acclaimed Unearthed on the doom loving masses. As IV continued to gig locally in the mid-Atlantic USA region they soon signed with Dogstreet Records to release their next full length release, Matricide. Just like Saturnalia Temple, Sweden’s Year of the Goat are creating quite a buzz in the rock underground with the release of their much acclaimed debut EP, Lucem Ferre (Latin for The bringer of light / The son of desert fire). Year the Goat are inspired by the occult rock bands of the late sixties and early seventies, however, the inspiration is not so much musical as it is about the subject matter of the lyrics and the picture they paint of pagan rituals, Satanism and the dark arts. Year of the Goat don’t really recreate the musical stylings of that era. Instead, the band adds a modern feel to their 70′s flavored occult rock, with an almost prog rock or even indie rock approach to it. Year of the Goat don’t shy away from using catchy hooks, both vocally and guitar-wise, giving rise to amazing passages like “walk through the mist, to an ancient place, gathering for the King, to invoke his name, potion from the darkest well, opens for pagan souls, hear the angels of heaven wailing, as they call for the lord of darkness…” (taken from Of Darkness). For the first and only time, Nachtmystium will play their landmark USBM album Instinct: Decay in its entirety. When Instinct: Decay was released in 2006, branded as a psychedelic extreme metal record, it was met with deeply divided feedback –some highly laudatory and some derisive. 5 years later, the record sounds as good as ever and it seems clear that the derision was merely the backlash of closed-minded black metal fans. Change turned out to be a good thing — now Instinct: Decay is hailed as an enormous milestone in USBM history. In fact, along with Leviathan, Krieg, and Wolves In The Throne Room, Nachtmystium are considered instrumental in forging a unique musical identity for the USBM scene. Founded in 2006, Witch churn out an punk-inspired style of psychedelic stoner doom that features Dave Sweetapple (Sweet Apple), Graham Clise (Annihilation Time / Lecherous Gaze), Kyle Thomas (Feathers), and marks the return of J Mascis to drums (his first instrument, back in the Deep Wound days). Witch have released two albums, Witch (2006) and Paralyzed (2008) that showcase their energetic music which is perfect for a live setting — equal measures of Sabath/Zeppelin inspired heavy 70′s rock and Dead Meadow meets The Wipers indie rock.

(в Эйндховене жили в 2009, но это совсем крайний варинат) в том, что все отели в Тилбуреге уже забиты, я уверен. так что остаётся вариант шале/джангалу. там весело и пзидато: единственная проблема, что там в одной комнате "двойная" постель, которая по величине, по большому счёту, как одиночная, с одним одеялом... не знаю, как они там вдвоём спали: ну и в другой комнате постельки не большие, надо сказать. у меня рост, где-то, 190, так у меня ноги сантометров на 30 не умещались нихуя. но хоть две, а не одна но это всё ерунда, яб сказал. главное, что мы чет так вяло собираемся в этом году, что, походу, и эти джангалоу/шале тоже все раскурят. так что мы, походу, будем кэмпинговать в палатке... ебись оно всё конём!
