ORION WARNING: Nazi Driver это Peder Bergstrand - бас/вокал It all started 3 years ago: "My old band Lowrider faded out into nonexistence, but I kept on writing music, without any definite end purpose or goal - the only thing I know was that I wanted to do something different." says Peder Bergstrand, I ARE DROID's guitarist, singer and song writer. A late winter's night after a show in the outskirts of Stockholm, Peder ran into an old childhood friend, drummer Fredrik Bergström. "We hadn't seen each other in ages, like 6 years or something. But after a minute we were right back where we left off. It was just one of those things, you know?" smiles Peder. Pretty soon the two realized they should be making music together. There was only a tiny catch: Fredrik was moving to Tokyo. - We started sending ideas for songs back and forth from Stockholm to Tokyo. It was like that type of juvenile, naive teenage thing like when you where a kid and you met a girl on your vacation. It's like "We're gonna make it, I'll write you every day! I'll come visit you in six months!" laughs Peder. Except this time it actually happened. Peder went to Tokyo and the two-piece started rehearsing. And when Razzia Records heard what they were up to and wanted to sign the unit, Fredrik decided to move back to Stockholm so they could pursue I ARE DROID full on. When Konie Ehrencrona (Konie, Don't Be A Stranger) joined on guitars and vintage synthesizers and bassist Jens Lagergren (Thunder Express, Hello Saferide) became member no 4, I ARE DROID was complete. он описывает создание группы

Titled “Roadburn Festival Introduces”, the idea is to showcase three promising, up-and-coming Dutch bands in the psychedelic realm. Taking place at the Bat Cave stage, The Machine, along with Oceana Company and Capital Sentimental will have the opportunity to play an intimate show and reach the international Roadburn community. We feel that The Machine have something unique and interesting to offer the Roadburn audience. The band pairs molten universal stoner rock riffs with a fair dose of retro psych for good measure. Vodkasatan: ну заокеанские банды да, как правило. кроме реюнионов, хотя, в прошлом году Сэйнт Вайтас изначално планировалось, как одноразовый "роадберн спешл" реюнион, а они потом взяли и в германии концерты забабахали и на Хеллфесте отыграли. в прошлом году у нас групп 5 играло на неделе перед роабурном, которые потом на роадберне были.

Vodkasatan: ну вот у нас, пока что, из тех, кто будет на Роадберне, будут: Shrinebuilder, Altar of Plagues, Yakuza еще планируется заехать в Дрезден на Brant Bjork & The Bros(вместе с My Sleeping Karma) и на Black Math Horseman; в Вену на Eyehategod, Soilnet Green, Sourvein, чтоб хоть немного разгрузить себе сам Роадберн
Vodkasatan: DIVE http://www.myspace.com/divebelgium We are proud to announce that DIVE has been confirmed for Tom Gabriel Warrior’s Only Death Is Real at Roadburn Festival 2010. Dive is the brainchild of Belgium’s very own Dirk Ivens. Influenced by bands from the German and UK electronic / industrial scene, Dive released its first album in 1990. The album was very primitive, harsh and experimental, with lyrics about hope, death, love and fear, but it hit like 10,000 volts. The debut led to many albums with an evolving sound, which consistently retained Dive’s underground, heavy and radical feel. Dive creates maximum power using a minimum of equipment. Many newcomers to the Electronic Body Music scene have attempted to duplicate Dive’s sound in recent years. Ivens has proven that less is more on stages everywhere. Tom Gabriel Warrior: “It wasn’t easy to secure Dirk Ivens and Dive for “Only Death Is Real” at Roadburn, and Dive is not a typical group for a generally rock-oriented festival and not a group easily digested. But it was important to me to see Dive’s appearance become a reality. I have been a dedicated follower of Dirk’s music for many years. I respect him greatly for his uncompromising work and extreme minimalism. At times, his output has sounded to me almost as if it was a electronic incarnation of black metal. I am absolutely delighted Dirk will now appear at Roadburn.” One of our unwavering objectives is to make Roadburn a festival that both celebrates the established and charts new territory. With the addition of Dive, Tom is pushing the envelope musically and expanding Roadburn Festival’s boundaries, much like Neurosis did last year by inviting The Young Gods. Tom’s artistic vision and mindset are what define him as our curator, and we are proud that he has invited Dive. In our minds, we are all truly kindred spirits.

Chicago’s Russian Circles will be returning to Europe in support of their latest album Geneva, which has garnered praise from longtime fans and new converts alike. The band’s third LP combines a clean, riffs upfront approach with a blissful pulse and flow, wailing feedback and heart-pounding bass. Featuring borderline military precision, Russian Circles’ sophisticated yet warm take on postrock goes straight to the heart of the music, setting the band apart from many of their peers. Russian Circles is scheduled to perform at the Midi Theater.

Earthless were among the undisputed highlights of the 2008 edition of the festival. The story behind the recording of Earthless – Live at Roadburn has been documented widely by various sites and magazines over the past two years, but in case you missed it: the band was originally scheduled to play in the Bat Cave, the smallest of the three venues within the 013 complex. At the very last minute they were switched to the Main Stage, where they proceeded to dazzle 2,000 rabid fans. For those who aren’t familiar with Earthless, they are a a powerhouse freakout trio from San Diego, playing long instrumental jams, structured at times, improvised at others. Their rock ‘n roll sound has loads of cosmic space-psych influences. Earthless is scheduled to perform at the Midi Theater. The addition of Russian Circles and Earthless completes the lineup for the 15th Roadburn Festival. Tom Gabriel Warrior will announce the final band for his Only Death Is Real event on Friday, 16 April, any day now. Stay tuned!

Vodkasatan: небольшая перестановка кадров: Soilent Gree отменили свое участие на афтербернере, поэтому их место хедлайнеров афтербернера займут Outlaw Order. всвязи с этим Bong перемещаются из "Bat Cave" в "Green Room"(что лично мне не может не нравиться), а в "Bat Cave" добавляются Samsara Blues Experiment We’re very sorry to report that Soilent Green has pulled out of the 2010 Roadburn Afterburner event, set to take place, Sunday, April 18th at the 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland. Soilent Green’s Tommy Buckley, who is also in Crowbar, will be on tour, supporting Sepultura with Crowbar in April. There’s a conflict in both touring schedules, so Soilent Green’s European tour has been postponed. Luckily, we have OUTLAW ORDER replacing Soilent Green as the main headliner of the afterburner event. However, this means that Outlaw Order won’t be playing the main festival on Thursday, April 15th. It took quite an effort to find the best possible solution, and we’re very grateful that Oulaw Order were willing to headline the Roadburn Afterburner instead of playing the regular festival date. Replacing Outlaw Order in the Green Room on the Thursday Roadburn date, are Newcastle-Upon-Tyne’s BONG. They bring their heavy, repetitive and psychedelic droning-doom up from the Bat Cat to the Green Room. A fitting choice! Which leaves us with the opportunity to ask Germany’s SAMSARA BLUES EXPERIMENT to be part of the Roadburn Festival on Thursday, April 15th to complete the line-up. Utilizing both heavy riffage and psychedelic blues-jamming, Samsara Blues Experiment offer 21th Century Krautrock that will appeal to doom and stoner fans alike. The band is causing quite a stir with their forthcoming debut full-length Long Distance Trip, and we’re very happy that these spaced out cosmonauts will be part of Roadburn Festival 2010, as we like to showcase such promising up-and-comers. http://www.myspace.com/samsarablues

Having been described as “the black metal equivalent of the Eraserhead soundtrack”, there is little doubt that Switzerland’s Darkspace is one of the most esoteric bands in metal today. Solely on strength of their visionary records and excellent live shows, Darkspace has earned a reputation for innovation and excellence in the music underground. Darkspace’s sound is hallucinatory, their brand of organic black metal induces rapture with pummeling/pulsing bass and guitar work swirling into amorphous, bleak clouds of noise, drone and ambient. Their name and their sound are both a tribute to, and a description of, an endless void of darkness — leaving no question as to the meaning of Darkspace. Once again Orange Goblin and Roadburn’s Maarten & Patrick are looking forward to spinning lots of excellent music over the course of the three days.
